Greetings and Welcome to MontanaLinux! What is MontanaLinux? It is a remix of Fedora 16 devel that differs from the stock Fedora LiveCD media in the following ways: 1) It includes all of the Fedora updates available at the time of the build 2) It includes a lot of additional software packages from the stock Fedora repositories including most of the Desktop Environments / Window Managers, OpenOffice.org, etc... that simply don't fit on any of the LiveCD media 3) It includes a number of multimedia packages available from the RPM Fusion repositories to support the various multimedia formats for video and audio playback 4) It includes the Adobe Flash Plugin and Acrobat Reader pre-installed UPDATE: I removed Acrobat Reader so everything would continue to fit nicely on a 2GB USB Flash drive. Please note that since this remix uses some non-Fedora software, it is branded by the "generic" packages rather than the "fedora" packages. At some point in the future I may actually brand it "MontanaLinux" but so far I have not devoted enough time in figuring out what packages to rebuild... and have been lazy and happy with "generic". I have not altered any of the stock Fedora packages other than the SYSLINUX/ISOLINUX splash screen and the GRUB splash screen, added to the /etc/motd file and added these release notes to the / directory. If interested in the build process I used for this LiveDVD, check the /root/livecd-creator/MontanaLinux directory and the files it contains.
